On 15 March 2010 Monday at Shilpokola Academy Studio Theatre Hall Prachyanat opens ‘Uthan Natoker Mela’ (Yard play fair) ‘Mohola Mogon’. We select six plays to open for general audience out of more than 25 plays from in-house festival. 12 young promising theatre workers from six groups to inaugurate the four-day long festival. Patar Khela by Rantik Bipu

‘Play of leaves’ is a rural game. In this game it is said the snake charmers poison a banana tree by chanting mantras and slowly spread that from stem to leaves. Leaves are considered as human body. The charmers then compete on how fast they can poison a human body aka leaves.

The play is done as a reflection of the political situation of the country.

A New Testament of Ancient Mariner by Farhad Hamid

This is a new interpretation of Samuel Tailor Coleridge’s ‘Rhyme of the Ancient Mariner.’ Its added interpretation is that human death can bring luck to life, which are blessings for others.
